What does the TMBH-ASO Advisory Board Do?

The Thurston Mason BH-ASO Advisory Board is a citizen Advisory Board, including professionals, consumers, and family members, to the Thurston Mason Behavioral Health Administrative Service Organization (TMBH-ASO) Governing Board on mental health and substance use disorder issues pertinent to Thurston and Mason Counties. The TMBH-ASO Governing Board consists of 2 Thurston County Commissioners and 1 Mason County Commissioner.

What are member responsibilities?

The Thurston Mason BH-ASO Advisory Board’s role is to advise the Thurston Mason Behavioral Health Administrative Service Organization (TMBH-ASO) Governing Board, through TMBH-ASO staff, on matters relating to mental health and substance use disorder needs in Thurston and Mason Counties. The Advisory Board has statutory responsibilities for planning, monitoring, and making recommendations on the funding, planning, and service aspects of the programs. Each Advisory Board member is expected to represent all citizens of the two counties in their recommendations and advice. 

Mission of the Advisory Board

“To advocate for consumer-driven crisis intervention and treatment services for Thurston and Mason County Advisory Board residents most in need of publicly funded mental health and substance use disorder services and to advise the TMBH-ASO Governing Board to fulfill this directive.

All meetings are open to the public unless otherwise stated. Additional subcommittee meetings may also be scheduled.

Meetings are held virtually on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 12:00 PM
